Seventies revival?

Chapter 3

(Chapter 2: Right, we're gonna use this chassis . . .)

In Chapter 1 we finished our replica stock-style chassis, so now we can mock up the bodywork to see how (if?) it all goes together.

On Page 1, we see what hot rodders spend a lot of time doing . . .
Hmmmmm . .Mmmmmm . .Ah!

Time for some more hard work now, but, happily, slightly less than on the other chassis.

Right, it's Page 2, so where did we put that damn hacksaw? And where's that hammer?
Phew . .. . busy, busy . .. . nearly there.
Just a few bits to sort out on Page 3 . . .
Doh! . .. . all square . .. . that was easy.
Nothing to stop us now - Page 4 has the lowdown . . .
Easy as One . .. . Two . .. . Three.

Now we've got this far, we're ready to make the basic engine and transmission mounts, and sort out the front axle - the spring perches, wishbones, and stuff.

Now for some fiddly bits on Page 5 . . .
Gearbox mount . .. . crossmember . .. . in position.
Watch as we turn a nice shiny chrome axle into . .
. . er . . a nice dull black axle on Page 6 . . .
The classic 'before' . .. . 'during' . .. . and 'after' shots.
. . . then set up some stub axles and a wishbone to anchor it to the chassis Page 7.
Transit stub-axles . .. . caliper mounting backets . .. . and wishbone.

That's the end of Chapter 2: we've now got a posh wheelbarrow frame. In Chapter 3, we'll modify and install the rear axle, sort out the steering, and maybe fit a rollbar.
